Ushguli

Ushguli is a remote mountain community in the Svaneti region of Georgia and one of the highest permanently inhabited settlements in Europe, located at around 2,100 meters above sea level. It’s famous for its medieval stone towers, dramatic Caucasus scenery, and incredibly preserved mountain culture. Many people consider Ushguli one of the most beautiful places in Georgia. Ushguli is actually a group of small villages surrounded by snowy mountains and glaciers. The village is part of the Upper Svaneti UNESCO World Heritage area because of its unique medieval architecture and historical importance.
