Poti
Poti is an important port city on the eastern coast of the Black Sea in western Georgia. It’s one of the country’s main maritime and trade centers and has a long history connected to ancient Greek colonies, shipping, and transportation. The city was built near the site of the ancient Greek colony of Phasis, founded around the 6th century BC. Many historians connect this ancient city with the legend of the Argonauts and the journey of Jason searching for the Golden Fleece in Colchis.
