Mestia

Mestia is the main town of the mountainous Svaneti region in northwestern Georgia. It’s one of the most unique and magical places in the country, famous for medieval stone towers, dramatic Caucasus mountains, ancient traditions, and incredible hiking routes. Mestia sits at around 1,500 meters above sea level and is surrounded by snowy peaks almost all year. The region of Svaneti was historically isolated by mountains, which helped preserve its language, culture, and traditions for centuries.
