Welcome on board! Get ready for an unforgettable journey to Georgia’s beautiful Black Sea coast, where ancient history meets modern seaside charm. Your adventure begins with a scenic 2.5-hour drive from Kutaisi to one of the most important historical sites in Adjara — the Gonio Fortress. This fascinating Roman stronghold is surrounded by legends and mythology. According to ancient stories, this is where King Aeetes buried his son Apsaros after he was defeated by Jason during the legendary Argonaut expedition. The fortress is also believed to be the burial place of Saint Matthias, one of Jesus Christ’s twelve apostles. Archaeological discoveries here reveal Roman barracks, ancient bathhouses, mosaics, coins, and unique artifacts dating back to the 1st century. After exploring this remarkable historical monument, we continue our journey to the vibrant coastal city of Batumi. Enjoy a guided walking tour starting at the stunning Batumi Cathedral of the Mother of God. Together, we will explore charming old streets filled with history, culture, and local atmosphere. Strolling along the famous Batumi Boulevard, you will discover the city’s most iconic landmarks including: ✨ Europe Square ✨ Astronomical Clock ✨ Piazza Square ✨ The famous Ali & Nino moving statue ✨ Beautiful seaside promenade ✨ Hidden local gems and photo spots During the tour, we will take a relaxing break for lunch, giving you time to taste local cuisine and enjoy Batumi’s lively atmosphere. Next, we will stop at Shekvetili Dendrological Park, where you will have 1 hour of free time to walk, take photos, and relax. Please note: The park is closed on Mondays and Thursdays and open to visitors on all other days. The dendrological park will be our last stop. Entrance is free for everyone. After a day full of discovery, culture, and seaside views, we will comfortably return to Kutaisi.
